Llanelli AM Keith Davies is encouraging local people to show their support for the Olympics and their communities this weekend.
On Sunday 27th May, the Olympic Torch will continue its journey across Britain and Ireland passing through Llanelli, Burry Port, Pembrey and Kidwelly.
Following jubilant scenes in Cornwall, where the Torch began its 70 day tour over the weekend, Llanelli AM Keith Davies is hoping that our local towns will put on an equally good show.
Keith Davies AM said:
“People across the world are watching the Olympic Torch travel across the UK. This is a fantastic, once in a lifetime event that I hope local residents will come out and support.
“We are extremely fortunate that the Torch will be carried through so many local places, it gives us all a chance to be part of the Olympics 2012.
“The relay starts at Stepney Place Llanelli just after 9am before heading towards Sandy Road with an estimated arrival at Pwll Road, Burry Port at 10.24, arriving at Pwll Road, Kidwelly at approximately 11.15am.
“The entire relay will be shown on the BBC’s red button and online so the eyes of the world will be firmly fixed on our local area – let’s make it a great day.”
